Assembly was a bit awkward, it came with a ton of shipping material that posed as actual pieces of the unit. Instructions were not the clearest and it took a while to get the ball rolling. Once I figured out what was going on it went ok. Overall took me about 40 minutes to assemble, with better instructions it could have been 10 minutes. It is all metal except for the "plugs" holding shelves up, which are plastic. If these crack or fail the results will be catastrophic and the unit will be unusable. For now it is working, 250 lbs a shelf is a NO go, I pushed down hard and the plastic "plugs" slid down. I will be limiting the shelf weight to about 100 lbs.
