This unit adds to my pantry storage, holding crockpots, bags of flour and baking utensils. It appears sturdy and is backed up to wall area, not freestanding. It was very easy to assemble, definitely the best directions I have ever seen ! Clearly marked diagram, and pieces so well marked that won't allow you to put it together wrong. I had to adjust the height spacing after assembly to customize for my needs and even that was easy! While the weight per shelf is rated for 250 lbs, I am no where near that limit, and expect unit to do just fine with the items I am storing.
